Joyce Marie Pedersen, age 66, of North Mankato died, Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato.
Memorial Service Celebrating Joyce's Life will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Joyce was born August 3, 1952 to L. Harlan and Aline (Ruege) Anderson in Mankato. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Victor Eichten. Joyce graduated from Mankato High School in 1970. She married Jeff Butson on August 16, 1973 and they later divorced. She married Thomas Pedersen on December 30, 1999 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Joyce worked for over 30 years, several with her mother, Aline, at the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic in Mankato before retiring in 2015. She enjoyed traveling, her favorite places being Northern Wisconsin and Florida, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Tom of North Mankato; two children, Jared (Jill) Butson of St. Charles and Janelle (Mike) Greenough of Lake Crystal; step-son, Nate (April) Pedersen of Idaho; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Ava, and Nick Butson, Kaitlyn, Paige, and Alyssa Greenough; three siblings, Robert Anderson of Minneapolis; Ronald (JiYung) Anderson of Allen, TX, James (Ann) Anderson of Madison Lake; step-siblings, Karen Timm of Bloomington and Gary (Joanne) Eichten of St. Paul; sister-in-law, Kathleen Putrah of Faribault; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; step-father; and brother, Richard "Dick" Anderson.
