Robert "Bowie" Fields
March 5, 1952 - March 21, 2016
Robert "Bowie" Fields, age 64 of Anchorage Alaska died unexpectedly of a heart condition on March 21st 2016 at his home. Bob was born in Mankato and graduated from Mankato high school in 1970. He entered the service and was stationed in Thailand for 2 years. Later he graduated from an aviation program in Thief River Falls which he then landed a job in Alaska. In 1984 Bob moved to Dillingham and also worked in Kotzebue, Talkeetna and finally settled in the Anchorage suburb of Chugiak Alaska. Bob enjoyed photography, hunting and fishing with his friends and many of his Minnesota buddies that came up to enjoy the fishing and beautiful scenery. Bob is survived by his brother Bruce Fields of Good Thunder and his sister Jean Uchida of Mankato. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Lydia fields and older brother Bill. Burial is pending at Fort Snelling. A memorial celebration of life open house will be Saturday August 19th from 12:00 noon-3:00pm at Jake's Stadium Pizza, 330 Stadium Road, Mankato, MN 56001.
