Dean Mettler, 68, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at MCHS – Mankato. A public visitation will be held from 1-3pm Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. Dean was born September 11, 1952 to Leonard and Elaine (Dorn) Mettler. On April 21, 1992 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Julie Pedersen. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dean. For many years he worked at Jeff’s Superette in North Mankato, a job he absolutely loved. He enjoyed talking to all the customers, many who became his dear friends. He was a man of few words but when he did speak it was always profound. He found humor in most situations and accepted all people no matter what. He had a contagious laugh that will be greatly missed.
Dean is survived by daughters, Lisa (Tom) Soltys and Lori (Tony Frost) Mettler; grandchildren, Jake, Lilly, Mackenzie, Haley, Caleb and Theresa; eight siblings, Kim of Mankato, Fay (Jeff) Butson of Vernon Center, Dawn Baumberger of Mankato, Gwen (Tim) Ruch of Mankato , Lyn (Larry) Storlie of Mankato, Lola (Mark) McDermott of Owatonna , Todd (Barb) of North Mankato, and Van (Lori) of Mankato; uncles, aunts, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Wayne; infant brother, Anthony; great nephew, Jackson.
