Dennis Yetter

Dennis George Yetter, age 62, of Mankato, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at his home.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. John Petersen, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m., Sunday at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, and will continue one hour before service at church on Monday. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, BENCHS (Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society), Mt. Olivet Cemetery, and Glenwood Cemetery.

Denny was born December 7, 1951 to George and Carmen M. (Guentzel) Yetter in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High in 1970. He later graduated from Vo-Tech (now South Central College) in North Mankato after studying small business.

Denny previously worked for Superior Block Company, Pop Shop Distributorship, and Sioux Valley Sports. He then purchased an electrical business, naming it DenCo Electric Supply (DenCo Lighting) in Mankato. He was passionate about being a small business owner and providing excellent service to his customers.

Denny married Linnea Ortley on May 27, 2000 at Christ the King Lutheran Church. He was a Lime Township supervisor, member of the Minnesota River Builder's Association, and played a large role in the revitalization of Old Town Mankato. He was a Viking's football fan and enjoyed taking naps, mowing the lawn, and spending time outside with his dog, Buck. He also enjoyed spending time in his workshop doing woodworking projects and running electric trains with his step-grandson and "buddy", Jaxon.

Denny is survived by his wife, Linnea; step-children, Chris (and girlfriend, Karen Powers), Dan, and Kelly Moret and Kelly's son, Jaxon Phillips, all of Mankato; brother, Doug Yetter of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Deb (Lee) Erickson of Lakeville, MN; brother-in-law, Frank Dauffenbach of St. Peter; nieces and nephews, Craig (Stephanie) Dauffenbach of Bloomington, MN, Pat Dauffenbach (and girlfriend, Val Gritzinger) of Rosemount, MN, Scott (Jonna) Dauffenbach of Pueblo, CO, Chakara Dauffenbach of St. Peter, and Brandy (Ben) Schlader of Colorado Springs, CO, and their families; step-father Charles Farr of North Mankato; mother-in-law, Dixie Ortley of Mankato; father-in-law, Don Ortley of Ely, MN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb (Randy) Jacobs of North Mankato, David (Lori) Ortley of Kalispell, MT, Becky (Joe) Haley of Mankato, and their families; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his father, George Yetter in 1960; mother, Carmen Farr in 2006; and sister, Lois Dauffenbach in 1986.
